Thrift Store Deals

Well I found a view master projector at Good Will. I'm hitting the local shops for baby toys. Brooklyn got the projector complete with batteries. Tonight we taped four sheets of paper together and he showed a dinisour "movie" for the baby. I did the Rescuers and we all read books. What fun. Brooklyn the other day held his hands apart and told the baby that if everyone in the whole world held there hands like that that would be how much he loves his brother. C0-sleeper B and Big B are asleep, its been a good day that started out ruff.

High Five Boomer

Hi Keri,
cc: Mike

Thank you for your great responses. Your e-mails are so detailed that I thought to ask
you about the Slabtown issues. At the last festival meeting, because of the lagging
responses we were loosing hope that Boomer could make it. We really need to know about
the bounce house because right now we are paying for such a house on a shoe string budget.

Regarding the Kids Club: I thought that was why you used the punch card last year instead
of the pile of tickets. Myself and two kids just got back from the game tonight there
were so few kids there that they shut down the play area early. Couldn't perhaps the
tickets be for nights like tonight that are so dead, that PGE park would be happy to get
kid zone and food sales. I personally can not understand why my son still ate a snow
cone.

Tanya

Hi Tanya -

Thanks for the feedback, we will certainly take it into consideration
for future planning. It is nice to hear that the ticket aspect did
motivate you to attend games, but we found many people utilized the Kids
Club free tickets for other kids or for themselves, thus not helping
increase ticket sales. We were not seeing the response that we had
hoped from the ticket offer & that is why we began looking for new ways
to utilize the Kids Club. We have tried to design the club to help
motivate kids to come out to the games in other ways, but I can see
where you are coming from as well.

I did pass along your thoughts to our VP of Ticket Sales & Marketing, as
I know we have discussed creating some type of family ticket plans that
might be in line with some of the points you bring up.

Again, I'm sorry for the misinformation you were given in regards to the
Kids Club BBQ, there was obviously some miscommunication internally on
our part.

In regards to the Slabtown event, we were and are in the works of
coordinating a presence out there. The Fan Van has died & is currently
parked at the park. We were working on getting Boomer out there along
with the Bounce House and were just waiting to confirm on times so that
we can make sure we have staffing available. As we are trying to
coordinate all of this in the busiest part of our season, and there are
a lot of other events going on for us right now, it's been difficult to
get all of the details finalized. We do hope to have a presence there
though!

Thanks for all of the interest and for your continued support of the
Beavers!

Hi Keri,
cc: Brianna

Wow, I appreciate the great detail in your e-mail to me.

One comment that I want to make (and I can't be the only family like
this) is that I attended far fewer games this year than in past years.
When I had the tickets for my son it motivated me to go to set
games, now that I have to pay full price for us both I'm less
motivated to get to the games. One season there was a punch card
system very motivating.

Yes, I could see that you have more kids club fans now that it is free
but I assure you that this is no indication that you are getting more
ticket sales the old system motivated adults to attend games.

It's like the free ticket the kids get through the summer reading club
it pulls in the adults who have to chaperon the kids. Gone are the
days of the knot hole league.

I loved your events this year. I was in fact told as were my friend
that there was no BBQ this year when we got the free kids club cards
at the kids fan stand ticket for bounce house area. I was told that
it would be cost prohibitive now that the club was free. Which
generated my initial upset letter to the Timber's BBQ which you kindly
respond to.

----On a side note.

Why is it so hard to get Boomer and friends to commit to come to the
Slabtown event on September 15th? I hear that the fanvan in busted
and can't get there??? The pitching booth might get there... Any ideas?

You seem to have all the answers so I'm tossing in this extra curve
ball.

yours a Beaver Fan and mom of two boys,
Tanya

Quoting Keri Stoller :
Hi Tanya -

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for the wrong email
being sent out to you. We do have a Beavers Kids Club BBQ planned
during the Beavers' last homestand, but have not sent the invitation
to that event yet. All perks for each club have been the same, as
we value both our teams' fan support equally and would never wish to
"dog" our Beavers fans or play favorites to our soccer fans. I am
sorry if you got the impression that we were not doing something at
the end of the year for Beavers Club members.

We have been experimenting with the way the club is structured over
the past couple seasons and are constantly looking for ways to make
the club bigger & better. We switched to a free club, so as to make
it something more fans could take part in and have been successful
in doing such (membership has over quadrupled this year).

As a member of the club, there are special offers that the average
fan does not have the opportunity to take part in. One of these
perks is a BBQ & baseball clinic/autograph session with players that
is not open to the general public. Our pricing for the event is
based off of our food costs & the cost to have the players coach the
camp. We felt that due to the fact that the club is free,
offereing some exclusive opportunities at a reduced rate seemed
reasonable. In addition to this one charged event, we've offered
unique opportunities, like the July 4th event, meet & greats with
players & special autograph sessions with some of our promotional
guests, all at no cost. So in fact, we've provided more special
opportunities for members this year with really the only thing
taken out being the tickets.

Aa far as the t-shirt, we did not go with that this year, but
instead went with a different promotional give-away item (Boomer's
Kids Club watterbottles), which is free of charge to members. In
order to keep the club fresh, we try to mix up what promotional
items we give away each year.

We did take away the ticket element for a few reasons:
*Club switched to being no cost
*Many members already had tickets, so the tickets provided we
not useful to their kids
*We were providing over $60 worth of tickets for $15, on top
of the t-shirt, free BBQ, program & other items...so we were
actually losing money on the club and seeing membership decline

The main reason we split the clubs a few years ago was that we found
the two teams' fan bases were quite different and there was not a
lot of overlap. Having two separate clubs instead of one combined
allowed us to cater club perks more specifically to the respective
team it was promoting.

We apologize for the duplicate emails, but we send an email to each
club member.

Thank you again for your input, as we're always looking for ways to
improve our fan experience. If the main thing you are interested in
is tickets, I would be more than happy to send your family some
information on the different tickets packages we have available.
Families are our main focus, so I will pass along your suggestion of
creating a family/kids ticketing package.

Thanks and we hope that you will still consider bringing your family
back out to some Beavers games in the future! Please feel free to
contact me if you have any other questions.

Hi Brian,

I get that you must have sent the Beavers Kid's club list the
invite
to the Timbers supporters by mistake. Here is my concern that
the
Beavers are going to dog their kid fans and not have a BBQ this
year.
Heck I thought the free kids club this year was the pits no
tickets no
BBQ no t-shirt, I would be willing to spend 25bucks and get some
extras. I'm displeased now because it seems soccer fans are
getting a
better deal than baseball fans it was not that many years ago
that my
son as a kids club member got six beavers and six timbers
tickets as
part of the unified kids club. I did not even sign up for the
timbers
kids club this year because the Beavers kids club was such a
waste,
did not seem as special as in the past. Heck i only bothered to
even
sign up one son and that was top get the e-mails you generate no
need
to get double e-mails.

Although, we had a blast as a family at PGE Park on July 4th
thanks in
no small part to the kids club, I think you need to revamp the
club
format and charge upfront but get some ticket deals for the
kids.

yours,
Tanya Brooklyn's and Berkeley's mom (only Brooklyn is signed
up)

Camping at the Zoo

Brooklyn and Berkeley and mommy (no daddy still recovering from getting snipped) went camping at the Oregon Zoo last night. There was a live owl during the story time last night. we were given tours of the hospital and the comminsary. Brooklyn made a bear cookie with honey on top. It was a bit moist and cold this morning so we booked it to the hoff with a loaded stroller on the Max Train and dragged home. The boys wore their matching zoo sleepers.

I learned about the zoo at night. Went around. I went around I learned that every animal in the zoo flys at night, usally only one animal flys
I went looking for them spotis.

Do elephants fly?

yah every animal in the zoo flys.

Did you sneak out of the tent to go see this?

Yah, I do this in the middle of my work when you were sleeping guys when you were sleeping I sleep walk.

What was going on with the sand?

I was moving around the sand in the sand spot. I was was filling my socks with sand. Sand was raining on you and the other people.

Did you get cold?

Yah, I didn't like it last night. Berkeley made me need me.
